Enjoy many of our spirits in gorgeous candle form as a recycled gin bottle soy candle! Arrives in a lovely kraft box. These eco friendly candles are hand-made from reused Orkney Gin Company bottles. Available in our standard bottle sizes. Prices vary depending on how much liquid wax is used (in 50cl and 70cl bottles). These candles are carefully cut with beautiful rustic indents, this is just how stoneware/glass cuts naturally. The burn time varies from 40 to 80 hours depending on the size of the candle.

Once the candle is finished, why not repurpose it into a vase or a plant pot? Please do not place empty candles/cut bottles in the dishwasher or microwave. Do not submerge cut areas of stoneware in water.

Standard Shipping takes around 3-6 days to UK Addresses, Speedy takes 2-5 days. We use Royal Mail and Parcelforce 48 hour, and 24 hour when choosing 'speedy', but as we are on the Orkney Islands, we normally estimate an extra 2 days on top of what is quoted. Please understand this delivery time is an estimate, and it is not a gurantee. It may take longer in busy periods such as Christmas. *Factors which may affect delivery times are: delays caused by weather, Royal Mail/Parcelforce delays outwith our control and shortage of stock/packaging (we will contact you if this happens).*

Your product will arrive carefully packaged in a cardboard box with fragile tape. Legally we must provide a sender address on parcels, so we name ourselves as OGC in this area to be more discreet in case its a gift.
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we're here to help. Returns You have 30 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging. Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase (eg. email). Refunds Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item. This many take up to 5 working days after receipt of the parcel. If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within 7 working days depending on your card issuer's policies. Shipping You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item unless damaged or faulty. Shipping costs are nonrefundable. Rhubarb Old Tom

Our well known Rhubarb Old Tom 50cl bottle repurposed into a gorgeous candle with pink coloured soy wax (colouring may vary from batch to batch). With cosy and fruity rhubarb scent - just like the gin! The Rhubarb Old Tom stoneware bottle is off-white - in case that helps with matching decor! Aatta Gin

A bright and fresh scent with citrus and juniper set insdie the gorgeous award-winning repurposed Aatta Gin glass bottle. Reveal the selkie wife on the inside as the candle burns! Mikkelmas Gin

Just like the gin, this candle is warming, spiced and very smooth, with lovely citrus scents too - perfect for cosying up. The wax itself is not coloured like the Rhubarb Old Tom candle, and just in case you need to know - Mikkelmas bottles are a cream traditional stoneware colour, slightly different from the Rhubarb Old Tom candle's colour. Before Burning

Prior to burning your candle, trim the wick to around 5-8mm. This prevents uneven burning, excessive sooting, dripping or flaring.

Avoid drafts, vents or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping. For this reason, avoid burning candles close to each other.

If you can, but especially the first time, burn for 2-3 hours each time you light the candle. This will help it burn evenly, prevents tunnelling and gives you the best out of your candle.

While Burning

Never leave a burning candle unattended or lit while sleeping. If you are going to leave the room or go to bed, be sure to extinguish all candles properly first.

Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For safety measures, stop burning a candle when there is ¼ inch of wax left in the bottle.

Never touch or move a burning candle. Never move a candle container when the wax is liquified.

Extinguish a candle if the flame becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Before re-lighting, let the candle cool, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts.

Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations, etc.

Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets. Do not place lit candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else. Take caution when choosing an area to place/light your candle. Check the surrounding area is safe.

When Extinguishing

Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle, if available, as it’s the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering.

Do not use water to extinguish a candle, this can cause the hot wax to splatter and could break a glass container.

Before leaving the room, make sure your candle is completely out and there is no glow coming from the wick ember.

Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.
